How young is to young to enroll in cooking classes?

My daughter is obsessed with cooking. She watches Food Network every day and asks me to download recipes constantly. I wanted to know if she was to young to enroll in cooking classes, and if there were any for kids in the Chicago / NorthWest Indiana? She is 6 1/2 years old.How young is to young to enroll in cooking classes?

You might check with your local parks department or YMCA. Sometimes they offer cooking classes for children. Also, Betty Crocker recently reprinted a cookbook for children that came out in the 1960's. I have an original copy from my childhood and it has some great, easy recipies that you can do together.
I can't imagine a class that would take a child that young.

I would not want to send my child that young to a class.

Her ';cooking'; lessons should be with her parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends of the family, people who with keep her safe. Stoves, ovens, knives, appliances are not made for children to safely use.
if she's responsible...i think she could handle it

i mean any 6yr old that can watch the food network

and is fascinated with it...i think they can handle it

i'm not sure about your area..but check with local colleges

i'm in louisiana and our local college has ';laginappe'; classes..

that has cooking for all ages (and other classes)

but of course, you have to stay with your child while she is there

...for safety reasons and to help out...

but they will let her cook..show her techniques
