How to cook dry beans?

I have a sack of dry Pinto beans. How can I cook them? How to cook dry beans?
Follow the instructions on the bag.How to cook dry beans?
Put the dry Pinto beans in a pot, checking for any pebbles to make sure you get the pebbles out. Cover with water and about 2'; above the level of beans. Bring to a boil, boil 2 minutes and then cover, turn off the heat, and let sit for one hour. That's my favorite way to start the process. If you don't want to do it that way, then soak the beans overnight in the refrigerator. The first way takes less time.

Once the hour is up, drain the water. Add diced onions, diced celery, diced carrots, a bay leaf, and some black pepper to the pot with beans and fill it to cover the beans. You can add a nice ham bone if you have one. If I don't have a ham bone, I always add some beef base (like bouillon but moister), ham base or chicken base. Bring the water to a boil, turn down the heat and simmer the beans for 2 hours or until tender.

Remove the bay leaf before serving. You can make a soup out of it at that point or just take the beans out of the flavored water and serve them. If you want to turn them into refried beans, you would put some oil in a skillet (after the beans are done), add your beans, and mash them well.

Hope that helps.
if your bag has no instructions, here ya go

First you soak the beans in water. there are 2 ways to do that, cover with water and soak overnight, refrigeration is not necessary. Several times during the soaking youwill want to drain off the water and replace with clean water. this helps get rid of the sugars that cause the ';toots';.. If overnight is not an option, you may cover with water, bring to a boil, remove from heat, cover, and let stand for at lest 1 hour, more if possible. Again replace the water with clean water.

Once done soaking, cover with water by about 2 inches, bring to a boil, reduce heat and let simmer for probably 1.5 -2 hours, testing for tenderness along the way. Do NOT add any salt or salty products like ham or ham hocks, etc, until the beans are tender, they will never get tender if you do. Good luck
You should soak them over night but you can also do a quick cook method (easy to google this). You can make tons of things with beans.
