Then you need to get an appropriate weapon to hunt with.



You need a spot where you can legally hunt them.



You need the correct amount of orange on, if your state requires it.



Then you simply find and shoot the rabbit.

I always just shot 'em in the head with a 30-30 and pull their hides off warm like taking a undershirt off a baby..., dump out the guts and wash 'em in the crick!

It depends on what kind of hunting implement you intend to use. The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife has a pretty good basic hunting booklet on their website in PDF form.(1) It covers the basics pretty well (including where to hunt, how to hunt using several different types of weapon (shotguns, rim-fire rifles %26amp; air-rifles), and recipes). I'd also suggest checking your state's hunting regulations to see how and when you can legally hunt rabbit in your state.



My advice would be if you're planning on using a dog to flush the rabbit, then use a shotgun. Otherwise simple walk an area, stopping frequently to scan for a rabbit (I've always been told to look for the eye as it is reported to stand out much better than the rabbit's body). Once you've located the rabbit, line up a shot with your rim-fire rifle or pellet rifle. Aim for the head as that ruins the least meat.
